What to Expect

This isn’t a technical climb, but it does need a reasonable level of fitness. Ground conditions will be boggy underfoot.

You’ll get:

  • A well-paced, guided route

  • Quilified & insured Mountain Leader

  • Local knowledge of the area

  • Time on the summit without rushing

  • A visit to Irelands highest church

  • Following Saint Patrick’s footsteps

A group of people standing outdoors in front of a grassy hill with a mountain and clear blue sky in the background, with sunlight overhead.
A large group of hikers dressed in outdoor gear and backpacks, standing together on rocky terrain in a foggy mountain setting, some waving and smiling at the camera.

What to Bring

Drawing of a pair of worn work boots with scuffed soles and creased leather

All our hikes require proper hiking boots. In the west of Ireland we are blessed with wilderness, and this also means we have to protect our legs and feet with proper footwear

Outline illustration of a hooded winter jacket with multiple pockets and buttons.

Bring waterproofs to our hikes. The weather on the Wild Atlantic Way can change fast, so a waterproof jacket and waterproof trousers are a must

Illustration of trail food items including a water bottle, grocery bag, ham and cheese, an apple, trail mix, oat and honey tube, and a package of crackers on a cloth.

Take enough food and drinks with you. Hiking in the west of Ireland can be demanding, so make sure you can (re)supply the needs of your body
